Tara St James is part of Study NY, a design studio and incubator for creatives who keep their carbon footprint small. Tara started Study Hall, which supports interns to develop, produce and sell their own sustainable collections. She is also the Fashion Director for The Uniform Project, which uses sustainable design to raise money for underprivileged children, and is a mentor for the Awamaki Lab, a programme that fosters partnerships between young designers and Peru's Awamaki indigenous weaver collective. Tara is the winner of the 2011 Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation Award for Sustainable Design, enabling her to show at New York Fashion Week this year.
